This past May marked the 10th anniversary of Create a Learning Site. Over the course of 120 articles, I have shared what I have learned on a fascinating journey of discovery through the Bible’s history, culture, and theology.
As part of this milestone, I took a sabbatical to reflect and recharge. Now, after a period of rest and renewal, I’m excited to begin posting regularly again starting in January.
As part of this time away, I have given the website a fresh new look. All past articles are accessible, and there is a new, enhanced search function that makes it simpler to find the content you are looking for. I invite you to give it a try!
In case you are looking for some holiday reading, I have put together a few article suggestions from past issues that I hope will inspire and challenge you in your own journey through the Bible.
To start, here are two of the most popular articles from past issues:
- Toledot in Genesis – What Are They and Why Do They Matter?
- Leviathan & Co.: More Canaanite Mythology in the Hebrew Bible
Next, here are four issues that are particularly meaningful to me – a tough selection, to be sure, but I feel these articles offer deep insights into key biblical themes:
- Our Father: A Lecture in Prayer
- Chaos and Anarchy in Judges: What Is the Message?
- The Trial
- Breaking the Silence: Rethinking 1 Timothy 2 and Women’s Roles in the Church
Finally, here are three in-depth studies on topics that I have explored over a longer period of time:
I am eager to share more of what I am learning in the year ahead. Until then, I wish you a blessed and peaceful Christmas season!
